The WhereNet WhereCall II is a key component of the WhereNet Wireless Parts Replenishment System, which provides a highly flexible wireless solution that eliminates the need for wired line-side infrastructure and can replace paper based Kanban Systems.

Each container of parts is associated with a wireless WhereCall, which transmits its unique identification when the call button is pressed by the operator. This transmission is received by a network of WhereNet antennas that are strategically installed at ceiling height within a customer manufacturing area.

The WhereNet Wireless Parts Replenishment System then processes the received signal, confirms that a valid request has been made and forwards a material call to a third party's system software. From there the call can be forwarded to vehicle-mounted terminals, floormounted workstations, or paging systems.

WhereCall II is a compact unit, with a durable call button. The WhereCall uses a LCD to display elapsed time from each button activation. The LCD is visible to operators at their workstation so they know how much time has passed since their last call.

A variant of WhereCall II, WhereCall II PLC, provides for automated call requests by replacing the call button with a sealed connector that can be interfaced to intelligent shop floor equipment.

The WhereCall II provides two areas for users to attach their own part numbers or other information.
