Accountant, Zebra Enterprise Solutions

Zebra Technologies Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG) has an excellent opportunity to help build the worlds’ leading provider of mission critical information technology solutions that manage and optimize the flow of goods within and between facilities in the supply chain. ESG, a newly formed division of Zebra Technologies, is a solutions oriented division comprised of 3 acquisitions WhereNet Corp, Navis LLC, and proveo AG. The ESG division is providing solutions to multiple industries and has a dominant and leadership market share in software to operate and optimize marine container terminals and active RFID solutions with the automotive and industrial industries. We are rapidly expanding into related markets including inland distribution centers, aerospace, defense, and transportation industries.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a varied background in accounting with experience working for a pubic company. Preferably some experience with Oracle (ideally having taken part in an Oracle implementation).

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to their related subsidiary ledgers and adjust the general ledger accordingly. Perform reconciliation on balance sheet accounts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial statements, such as monthly balance sheet, income statement, report on changes in financial position and budget variances.
  • Maintain standard costs and provide variance reporting and analysis. Contribute to the design of our cost-accounting system.
  • Assist external auditors at year end with preparing schedules, providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.
  • File all appropriate tax forms and reports with government agencies.
  • Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material; update records as necessary.
  • Recommend, design, and implement any necessary department controls and procedures.
  • Provide support such as schedules, data, information, etc. for the annual budget process.
  • Provide departmental assistance with questions relating to general ledger as well as financial statements and budget to actual reports.

Requirements

  • At least 2-4 years of experience with balance sheet accounts reconciliations for a public company.
  • Some cost accounting experience (2+ years) in a manufacturing environment, preferably one combining in-house and contract manufacturing
  • Process documentation experience, preferably as related to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Some tax-filing experience
  • Preferred: experience with an Oracle implementation
  • Preferred: revenue recognition experience (SOP 97-2 and 81-1)
  • Positive, can-do attitude

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in General Ledger Accounting
  • Experience in Cost Accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Enterprise software experience (Oracle and JD Edwards preferred)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a varied background in manufacturing materials management and computer information systems. The candidate will be required to understand business processes and be able to write marketing requirements and use cases that software development will use to develop new applications. The position will manage the product life cycle process from concept to general availability through support and end of life. In addition, the candidate will be expected to work with sales in support of strategic sales initiatives approximately 20% of their time. The Product Manager position will report to the Product Line Manager of the Material Flow Solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to develop and maintain good customer relationships
  • Ability to show value-driven ROI solutions for new product opportunities, comfortable with detailed business case discussions and analysis with senior management and customers
  • Lead the organization in defining the vision and content of future product releases
  • Develop product requirements using fact-based input from diverse sources including customers, sales, engineering, market research, industry standards, etc.
  • Oversee the launch and delivery of new releases to ensure timely delivery of all required deliverables from all departments
  • Provide product leadership and support to other functional areas, including sales, engineering, corporate marketing, services and support.
  • Conduct competitor and market analyses
  • Develop product positioning and messages
  • Oversee the development and delivery of product collateral, sales tools and training, e.g., Web site content, presentations, brochures, demos, case studies, release schedules, ROI calculators, competitor profiles, etc.
  • Participate in speaking engagements and presentations to customers, sales, channel partners, trade shows, conferences, industry organizations, etc.
  • Participate as needed in sales calls, product evaluations and go-lives

Requirements

  • At least 5 years Materials Management or Logistics Background in Industrial Industries
  • At least 5 years Computer Information Systems experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in software Product Management
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter: ability to work independently and manage support areas
  • Enterprise Software Experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, etc.)
  • Technical understanding of J2EE based enterprise systems
  • Technical background, including both enterprise software and hardware (WLAN, real-time location system or active/passive RFID is preferred)

Education

  • B.S. / B.A. Degree minimum
  • MBA strongly preferred

Travel

  • Willingness to travel (20 - 40% travel)

Job Description:

  • Support Real Time Locating Systems and active RFID solutions for Fortune 100 Companies (Automotive, Transportation & Logistics, and Aerospace & Defense)
  • As a Product Support Specialist, you will assist in deploying, testing, and troubleshooting RTLS/RFID systems in a Supply Chain - Logistics environment
  • Other key responsibilities include providing software application and hardware support to WhereNet's growing customer base.
  • The right candidate must be capable of working with little or no supervision prioritizing tasks accordingly and demonstrating excellent service to customers at each project location.
  • Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis skills are desired as part of the job duties involve determination of system failures through use of data collection tools and data log analysis.

Software Engineer - C++, General

The WhereNet Software Group is seeking a self-motivated C++  engineer.  WhereNet, a Zebra Technologies company, provides supply chain visibility solutions that leverage our state-of-the-art real-time location system technology.

Job Description
As a key member of the software development team, the successful candidate will work in our core software group to develop and maintain software solutions that leverage real-time location technology deployed at WhereNet customer sites worldwide.

The candidate will participate in improving and creating the set of tools that facilitate and automate the deployment of the solution that has RFID, hardware and enterprise software components.   The candidate will need good communication skills to interact with the hardware and support teams, and excellent C++ coding skills.   The position requires both, responsiveness when tool updates are need by the field, and good architectural sense to build up a good base platform for these tools.  

There may be a J2EE migration project in 2008.  Some experience in Java and familiarity with J2EE is desired for those participating in this effort.  

The location system technology that WhereNet invented enables us to solve business problems within supply chain markets in ways that previously required manual brute force techniques.  We are looking for energetic and talented candidates who are interested in joining a fast-paced software group to continue WhereNet’s rapid expansion into new markets.

Qualifications/Experience

  • 4+ years C++ coding experience required (Windows or Linux/Unix)
  • 1+ years developing in the Windows platform.
  • SQL and database knowledge (MS SQL Server or Oracle preferred) desired.
  • 0-6 years professional experience as a software developer.
  • Experience with object oriented software design required
    2+ years Java server-side hands-on design/coding desired.

Education

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
